ACOT Co., Ltd. has been selected in the eco-friendly energy sector of the 2026 Deep-Tech Incubator Project for Startup (DIPS), a flagship deep-tech startup support program led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Through this selection, ACOT will promote the development of a roll-to-roll (R2R) continuous process platform for the mass production of high-power fuel cell MEAs. Building on its MEA manufacturing technologies for hydrogen fuel cells and water electrolysis, ACOT aims to move beyond the limitations of conventional batch-type MEA manufacturing and implement a continuous R2R catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) process capable of direct membrane coating and drying. This will allow ACOT to establish a scalable manufacturing platform for the stable mass production of high-quality MEAs.
According to the official DIPS announcement, selected companies can receive up to KRW 200 million per year and up to KRW 600 million over three years in commercialization funding. Based on this support, ACOT plans to advance R2R CCM equipment development, process optimization, MEA performance validation, and commercialization infrastructure in a stepwise manner.
ACOT expects demand for high-power and high-durability MEAs to grow rapidly, driven by increasing power demand from AI and data centers, the expansion of the hydrogen mobility market, and the growth of green hydrogen production for carbon neutrality. In response, ACOT plans to integrate its low-PGM catalyst technologies with the R2R CCM continuous process to secure cost competitiveness, productivity, and quality stability in MEA manufacturing.
